An hour ferry plus 45-minutes flight from Singapore later, we arrive on the rustic Indonesian island of Singkep, whose land size is almost the same size as the lion city, but life couldn’t be more different here among the swaying coconut trees and endless beaches.
Brad has been visiting this island for almost two decades, and has taken a handful of friends to visit over the years. For our interior and exterior shoot, he wanted future guests to get a good sense of the space and the beautiful, unspoiled natural surroundings.
We got lucky with the weather most days, slightly cloudy and a breeze stirring on occasion. All three beach chalets fit into the laid-back island vibes perfectly, and each one is decorated with unique vintage pieces hand carried from Singapore and other parts of the world.
What a welcome change from the hectic city life!
