Yup, I really do love a good Mao Shan Wang, and don’t worry if you absolutely detest the “stench” – I refrain from indulging in the king of fruits before shoots.
I’m Jolyn, a nomadic photographer, journalist and designer, which means I am in Singapore several months a year, but spend the rest of it wandering our big little world. Life for me is a lot about the great outdoors, the loud silences of ancient woods, cacophony of birdlife emerging at dawn and snow-dusted peaks that beckon adventurous souls with their indomitable jagged faces.
In Singapore, I turn my attention to connecting with people and teams, sharing in their work and life journeys for a brief window. Photography frees up my creative spirit, and there’s an undeniable truth, passion and joy that could only be defined as the human spirit when the eyes of my clients light up in front of the lens (and behind it as well!).
Think of me as your storyteller, your wingwoman, the visual content creator that brings your brand story to life.
Left to my own devices, I gravitate towards the sprawling landscapes, deserts, mountains, lakes that serve as a reminder of our tiny, short-lived existence on earth.
Within the boundaries of cityscapes, I relish capturing important memories for families, life-defining moments for couples and contributing to the brand stories of corporate clients.
My current gear, time flexibility and experience allow me to cover a range of shoots, from headshots to large corporate functions or celebrations (>50 pax).
I’m good with fully outdoor shoots, or a mix of indoor or outdoor locations that’s most convenient for your needs.

Every person, place, subject matter is unique to me, and I find the best way of documenting the events of the day is to go with the flow, with minimal cues if any, that fit the situation and people I’m working with best.
For couple, family and event shoots, we’ll cover the important group shots, and make the best use of what’s around us, be it a swing, gorgeous architectural lines or even a play area to bring out the fun and creativity in the sessions.
One-on-one portrait shoots allows me to get to know you better, and even that bit of familiarity helps to free up any awkwardness, leading to a more relaxed session.

Photography for me has always been a passion, since the early days of a little Sony compact. It has since turned into a full-blown hobby that spans the great outdoors, joyful celebrations to portrait shoots for both LinkedIn and dating profiles.
