There’s a certain sparkle in the eyes of young kids that you know wouldn’t last forever. And having the extended family together, with grandma and grandpa are always moments that should be cherished. Especially if your family is living in various places across the world!
While it’s good to get the key group shots in, family photography doesn’t have to be all posed pictures all the time. I love the unfiltered curiosity of kids, and letting them get some “play” time while on shoot always makes for more relaxed, authentic memories.
A 1.5 – 2 hour family photography session is the perfect way to capture your precious family reunion, especially if extended members of the family are getting together after months or years of not seeing each other. Occasions like your child’s first birthday celebration or the grandparent’s golden 50th anniversary also make for great photo opportunities with family and friends.
Depending on the mobility, ages and preference of your family members, this photoshoot can take place at the family home, outdoors at one of Singapore’s many nature parks such as Hort Park, Fort Canning or Botanical Gardens or a mix of both!
When two or more nuclear families (nephews, nieces) come together, it also makes for fun interaction between the kids and a chance for parents to get a small breather for catchup.
Running after little toddlers, getting up close with mummy and her 1-month old baby, and directing grandparents to celebrate their decades of love? Been there, done that. I love the changing dynamics of working with children and adults of varying ages, and understand that the attention spans of the younger ones might not always be 100% all the time, and have developed techniques over the years to make the shoot productive and as fun as possible for everyone no matter what happens!
Having visited all the national parks in Singapore several times, I’m familiar with the play areas, toilets, vehicle and public transport access to most of them, meaning leading the group to the perfect picture spots is a breeze. I’ve shot within family homes from East to West, North to South, in HDBs, condominiums and landed property and have no problems adjusting the shoot to the space you have.
Events are lively, happy occasions to capture interactions between friends, relatives, new playmates for the kids and everything in between! I’ve shot for events with over 100 pax, and more intimate family celebrations where parents breathe a sigh of relief as their kids have a safe space to play while they can eat and chat with their friends in peace.
Get the entire family together for a wonderful day out and make some memories while at it! In our multi-generational family photography, we capture the interactions between grandparents and their grandkids, siblings, nieces, nephews and more, while not forgetting the all-important group picture! Having wonderful multi-generational photos to look back on is always and ever a heartwarming feeling.

The best-looking family shoots have colour-coordinated outfits (I love pastel or neutral colours against natural backdrops), and your favourite picture sometimes may be the most unexpected ones! We will often nail the standing group shots early in the day when everyone is fresh and the young ones are a little less likely to run off, and have more candid photos as everyone gets more relaxed and comfortable.
For kids between 2-6 years old, it’s always good to have some snacks or entertainment ready – think bubbles, toy camera, little wagon to sit on – to introduce some variety to the shoot, especially for those that are shy about posing. Shoots are more fast-paced with runners involved, and slower with young babies that need to be carried.
