As a birthday gift, Serena wanted to try something different every year, and posing for portraits was definitely something out of her usual comfort zone as an introvert. A fan of Wes Anderson and The Office (TV series), she leaned towards whimsical and wacky instead of stereotypical poses, and we had interacted with mundane daily objects and everyday scenes to create some mockumentary and slightly eccentric shots.
From finding out that blind mirrors are squishy – yes they dented in like soft buttons – to Serena kicking off her shoes to do a perspective shot, it was a fun afternoon of discovery for both of us!
