If anyone would love to break the norms (and did in a great way) on a formal occasion such as a wedding, it’d be Jolene. Jolene and Misha wed up at the beautiful Sospiri in IOI Central Boulevard Towers, where fine wine and dining was part of the plan, but so was networking, challenging pop-quizzes and free seating. Decked out in a custom made Cheong Sam (one of the lasts to be made!) by the retiring Master Tailor Qiying @goldenscissorcheongsam, she paired it with a very practical pair of Birkenstocks, showing it off to friends and family, and just being super comfy the entire afternoon, which made it a relaxed wedding luncheon for the bride, groom and guests.
This was one of the possibly only weddings where guests had actual KPIs to meet – finding all 5 or so other guests listed on their slip of paper to make new friends with, entering pop quizzes on their phone and winning some fantastic wines in the process. Not having people glued to their seats with a traditional 8-course meal and fixed table seating meant that there was a lot more fun interaction as the day went on, and everyone got to spend some quality time with the bride and groom beyond “table photos” and “yam seng”, and each other!
I do love an unconventional wedding – don’t you?
